While diplomatic discussions are under way within Egypt, Israel's defense forces is on high alert.

These mediated negotiations are taking place away from public view within the tourist destination of Sharm el-Sheikh, with heightened safety protocols.

Last night, in the US capital, Former President Trump again said a truce deal was possible:
