In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East. Operation "Truthful Promise 4" Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday. That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime. Additional Developments In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage. The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added. It said wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian. The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
