Details of the Tragic Event Per a release from his family, Shipley was using a piece of machinery when it caught fire. The 40-year-old managed to escape, it was not before he suffered major burn injuries over a large area of his body. He reached a ranch employee, who transported him to a nearby medical facility. Subsequently, he was airlifted to Austin, where he is in critical but stable condition. âWe ask for prayers for a complete recovery and the prevention of infections and complications on his journey back to health,â posted his brother, Jaxon Shipley, on Instagram. Extent of Burns Reports indicate that Shipley suffered full-thickness burns to more than 20% of his body. Family members have stated that the main danger at this stage is infection and pneumonia.
