Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year because of a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will involve coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
