Brian Eno Encourages Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of talented individuals. The track features a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the initiative have clarified that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
